Late-January Resolutions

I've been spending way too much money lately so for the month of Feburary here are some things I am not going to:
  • buy stuff from steep and cheep, rei, or any outdoor equipment place
  • buy new books or things that i don't immediatly need for some sort of class
  • eat out
  • go on weekend excursions that involve funding
Basically I'm going to only spend money on food that is from Safeway and is preferably on sale. Yup I think that's it.
I think the one exception is during President's day weekend when I'm going snowboarding. I'll buy a lift ticket.

back to school

What follows is a summary of my winter break (this report isn't stimulating so I'll include some pictures at the end as incentive to read this... or you can just scroll down and look at the pictures):
My last final ended at 3 on December 19th and on December 20th I arrived in Vancouver airport with my family. We spent about a week in Canada visiting relatives and playing in the snow. From the December 21-26 we were in Whistler sking/snowboarding.
I got home on the 27th and from this point on spent a lot of time watching TV and movies. I think the most meaningful show that I watched was the many episodes of My Super Sweet 16. This show basically showcases some of the most spoiled children ever with their $300,000 birthday parties and $100,000 dollar cars. Actually quiet entertaining.
I spent the first moments of 2007 in San Francisco. We arrived in SF by bart and walked 39 piers to pier 39 only to find out that fireworks went off near pier 1.
The next ten days were spent watching TV and hanging out with people and visiting high school.
Then, I decided last minute to go on a climbing trip. So from Janurary 11-15 I was down in Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. It was kinda cold to be camping. The nighttime temperature was in the 'teens every night and it never really got above 40 on any day. The first night was so windy that it took 2 of us about 1.5 hours to set up two tents. I also got to pratice driving stick for 5 hours on the way to Nevada and about 3 hours on the way back home. Also, since red rocks is so close to Vegas, we ate at the luxor buffet and spent a few more nights just walking on the strip.

Other things: the aim interface is pretty ugly and we turned on our heater today for the first time.
