Turkey in the desert

If you didn't know, I spent my Thanksgiving holiday in the desert. I met Cydnie and Daniel at 7:30 at Gordo's Taqueria for a quick dinner on Wednesday night and we were on the road by 8:30. We then drove through the night, making many stops at gas stations for caffine refills and bathroom breaks. I was in the back seat sleeping sometimes and being awake sometime.
At about 5AM on thursday we arrived in Yucca Valley and pulled up infront of Von's, which wasn't open yet. This allowed us to grab about an hour of sleep. At around 6:30, Daniel and I stumbled into Von's. I didn't really need to buy anything and ended up walking around aimlessly at the grocery store for a while. I'm sure I looked hung over or something.
We finally got into Joshua Tree at about 8AM and then the weekend started.

Some highlights: playing around on a highline, thanksgiving dinner, listening to drunk people, the domino's pizza tailgate, hot springs, and of course... climbing.

Here are some pictures...

crazy climber! you should check out Man vs Wild, it's a Discovery Channel Show. The guy is former SAS (special forces for the UK), he climbed mt everest and trekked across the antarctic. On the show he jumps out of a plane into the middle of no where and shows you how to survive with just a knife, a canteen of water, and a flint. The first three episodes have him in the Moab Desert, the Costa Rica rain forest, and the French Alps. It's a great show! He's an avid climber too.
